Jim has also restored a couple '59 El Caminos. This was earlier in Jim's time but the cars still look great. Click on the photos for an expanded view.

This is Jim's '59 ElCamino that he purchased in 1973 at Bernie's Standard in Kentland Indiana for the huge sum of $350.00. The engine was a 1966 Corvette 327 with three speed manual on the floor. Jim drove this ElCamino in high school. It was sold in 1977.

The seats were from a 1974 Cadillac ElDorado, the instrument housings were chrome plated.

This was during the CB radio craze that swept the nation. The antennea was placed in the center of the roof for a good "ground plane". Jim's CB "handle" was "Mighty Mouse" in reference to the ElCamino's 327 Corvette "Mouse" engine.

The Chromies and Baby moon hubcaps were classic 1950s style, and just seemed right for the look of the car.
