FUZZY has personally inspected this auto and he likes it!

NOTE: (22 October 2007) It is easy to see that this is a vintage car web site. Jim owns the vintage car collection that is featured on this site. Jim is a car nut, and has been around cars his whole life. Jim has a college degree in automobile technology.... Jim owns this web site, Jim owns the server this site is hosted on, Jim is a partner in the web site design and hosting company that built this site... Jim has easy access and the skills to put his personal stuff onto the internet... It is that simple. Jim does not have a dealers license. He is not a car dealer.. Jim asks that you look around and compare.. What you are looking at here is the real deal.. No smoke and mirrors, just the facts...

All of Jim's cars have clean lien-free

Indiana titles

This car belongs to Jim's wife.

She drives it less than 500 miles per year.

Jim has done some updates and it has always been properly

maintained. It runs down

the road like a brand new one!

Fuzzy has CAR FAXED this one and it really is exactly what Jim says it is !

The CARFAX tells it like it is. CARFAX sees everything... CARFAX knows everything..... CARFAX finds everything..... One cannot hide from the mighty CARFAX.....

EXTERIOR BODY CONDITION: Nice car, something that a person can be proud of. A few minor imperfections as expected on a car this age. Overall in very good condition.

HISTORY: ACTUAL MILES! Jim and his wife spotted this car at the Newport Hill Climb in October 2001. It is loaded to the max! Has the 5.7 liter V8 engine. (350 Chevy small block) One of the best engines ever from GM. COLD FACTORY A/C. DELUXE FACTORY DELCO BOSE STEREO. Everything works correctly.

This car was always garaged and has always been a central Indiana car.

(See mechanical information below.)

In 1986, this exact car sold new for $34,537.00

OPTIONS: A/C, tilt and telescopic wheel, power steering, power brakes, digital clock, Premium Delco Bose Sound option with digital tuning AM-FM-CASSETTE four-speaker system, automatic transmission, leather interior, power windows, locks, mirrors etc.etc....

VALUE: 7,315 INDY PACE CAR convertibles were built in 1986. For everything you want to know about a 1986 Corvette, follow this link. Look around for a Pace Car Convertible in this condition. With the national average being 15 to 20,000 miles per year, these miles are low. We know that many of these cars are ran into the ground, modified, used and abused. Everyone knows a 5.7 GM can do 200,000 miles easy, and this is a nice straight car with good options.

For what Jim has here, he thinks the price is fair.

Jim thinks that it would be a rare occurrence and difficult to find a Corvette convertible with these miles in this condition with this price at any dealership!

INTERIOR CONDITION: No rips or splits. All dash control knobs, switches, and buttons are intact and everything works correctly. The stereo system is OEM and works great, the cassette deck does not work. The seats are leather and were recovered in 2000, the top was also new at the same time, there is a center arm rest with cup holder and plenty of interior storage. The spare, jack and tools are intact. The owner's manual is in the glove box.

MECHANICAL: The tires are GoodYear Eagle and are excellent. This car drives great! Automatic transmission was replaced less than 2000 miles ago with a genuine GM remanufactured unit. The steering rack was also replaced at the same time. the brakes and rotors are also new with less than 1000 miles. At the same time, Jim replaced the shock absorbers with Monroe gasmatics as well as the entire cat-back exhaust with high quality Walker Turbo components with stainless mufflers. The air conditioning works perfect!

ENGINE: The EFI 5.7 liter V8 engine runs terrific and gets decent fuel mileage. The engine has been serviced regularly and needs nothing at this time. It carries excellent oil pressure at idle and does not run hot or overheat. The electric fans are operational as designed and the entire engine compartment is stock original. There are no high performance parts on this automobile. Jim keeps his collector cars in original condition as he is a purist collector. In addition, this fuel injected Corvette is very fast and handles superbly without modification.

Proven reliability, great power and fuel injected economy. This is one of the best engines GM ever produced.

RECENT MECHANICAL WORK: The brakes work excellent, they were overhauled 1000 miles ago with all new rotors as well as new Monroe shock absorbers on all four corners. The oil has just been changed, the battery is new, the stainless cat-back exhaust is almost new with less than 1000 miles. The transmission and steering rack are new GM remanufactured units with less than 2000 miles. This car should go many more thousands of miles with no problems.

WHAT DOESN'T WORK: THE POWER ANTENNAE IS BROKEN. IT IS STUCK IN THE UP POSITION. RADIO RECEPTION IS FINE, THE MOTOR FAILED AND WOULD NOT STOP CYCLING. JIM UNPLUGGED THE MOTOR WHICH IS EASILY ACCESSABLE INSIDE THE TRUNK COMPARTMENT

INEXPENSIVE REPLACEMENTS ARE AVAILABLE AT AUTO PARTS STORES OR LEAVE IT AS IT IS.

MISC:

Jim isn't lazy, when he sells a car, he just likes to show it just as it is. Everyone knows how something can de dressed-up and detailed. If Jim doesn't steam-clean the engine compartment, and doesn't super-detail the interior, then you know that you are looking at the real deal! Jim takes good care of his cars, he always fixes any mechanical problems and this is what he thinks is most important. (All of Jim's vehicles are in top running condition at all times. The last time Jim was towed-in from a roadside breakdown was in 1981.)

In addition, Jim knows from experience that some potential buyers are skeptical about detailed cars as this technique is often used by unscrupulous dealers to hide problems such as oil leaks. NOTE: Did you know that pressure washing the engine and engine compartment involves high pressure highly corrosive soapy water? This water is injected into electrical components and mechanical parts, passes into the interior of rubber seals and dust boots... Hmmmm? Jim never pressure-washes his racing motorcycles for the same reasons...
